Three months and I did not find anything I liked until Boomerang Transport came along. It is a luxury to be able to accept or decline a trip. Although, I accept as many as possible, just depending on my schedule. I started with Boomerang in October of 2019 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am able to engage with most clients if they are interested in talking and fortunately, I can carry on a conversation with anyone on any number of mundane topics. Hi, my name is Diana Comer and I am a driver in Jacksonville, NC. I was raised in Vermont and went to college at Vermont Technical College where I received an Associate’s Degree as a Veterinarian Office Assistant; however, I did not work in that field as I went to live with my aunt and uncle right out of college. They were in the circus. They had elephants and knew many people with animals, so I got many hours of hands-on training that way. It was a fantastic life and enabled me to see much of this beautiful country of ours. As I got older, I decided I wanted to return to Vermont and work at a “regular” job. Well, I worked as a secretary for the state in the Probation and Parole office. That was good for a while but then as you suspected, I got itchy feet and needed some more adventure than what I was getting so I joined the United States Marine Corps. I really enjoyed that lifestyle. I stayed for 4 years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. I would have stayed in; however, that is where I met my present husband, and he was an officer and as an enlisted we were not able to date so I chose to get out when my time was up. I then chose to get an education in the health care field. I became a CNA, LPN and finally an RN. These degrees allowed me to work in any area of the country that my then husband was stationed at. We then came to Jacksonville, NC and decided that NC was where we wanted to retire one day. He had reached the rank of Lt. Colonial by now and so I was able to switch occupations again and pursue my passion and that was that of animals. I started working in a dog boarding, grooming, day camp facility and moved up to being a kennel manager. This is the present position I hold, and I absolutely love it. I work with all kinds of small animals but mostly dogs and cats. Nothing is better than working every day in an occupation you love. This is another reason I wish to join the Boomerang Team. I miss driving and I want to help people. With my military access I will be able to help Boomerang fill the need should any clients need services on the base. I also know that I will get great satisfaction from being a driver for Boomerang and I am so looking forward to belonging to your company and being part of the team.
